The FTC has done an amazing job to protect consumers for quite some time. ?With the housing market greatly struggling it is very likely that many companies are trying to make a quick dollar off consumers. ?Recently a mortgage foreclosure relief, rescue and loan modification company was closed by the FTC.
National Foreclosure Relief was charged for falsely claiming that they would completely stop foreclosure for clients. ?If the foreclosure was not abruptly stopped the company claimed that they would repay their clients in full. ?Many customers paid fees up front up to $1000. ?Those who paid these fees up front often lost their homes and were provided no refunded.
Those who did avoid foreclosure did so on their own efforts and not the efforts of National Foreclosure Relief. ?In late April the FTC announced that they had reached a settled which banned National Foreclosure Relief from the mortgage and loan modification business. ?It is very important to learn a lesson from this that you must protect yourself at all times and do your research.
