It is very important to note that the FTC offers debt advice but does not offer any debt relief programs. Before signing up with any debt relief company it would be wise to access the FTC website and do your research to make sure that you protect yourself.


Some of the free advice that the FTC gives is that it is very important to understand that credit card debt can not be magically erased. You will have to go through strict budgeting and save much more than you spend to have any opportunity to greatly reduce your credit card debt.

The FTC also offers many free resources on how to budget your money wisely. One of the biggest problems that Americans currently have is that they do not understand how to budget which ends up forcing them to spend much more money than they can save. When getting into revolving credit card debt this is a huge problem and something that should be addressed immediately.
